The Legislative Affairs Committee (LAC) is a group of politically-minded students from multiple different majors who come together to craft our student voice as campus and work to effectively promote the needs of UW Tacoma students.
The LAC directly advocate for the students in face to face meetings with legislators and also act as a think tank for advocacy strategy, civic engagement, and finding ways to make politics a little less boring.
The Legislative Affairs Committee does the following:
Craft a legislative agenda on both the state and federal level
Organize and engage in voter registration efforts
Provide input and feedback on legislation
Travel to Olympia to meet with legislators during session
Discuss and develop advocacy strategy
Host civic engagement events
Occasionally watch House of Cards
